该成就是这个世界上人口最多国家的一个重要里程碑——中国是世卫组织西太平洋区域30多年来第一个获得无疟疾认证的国家。据世卫组织的数据，该地区只有其他三个国家获得了无疟疾认证：澳大利亚、文莱和新加坡。

AlthoughtheW.H.O.warnedthatmalariacouldreturntoChina,thecountry’svictoryoverthediseasedemonstratedthatinnovativetreatmentsandaggressivetrackingofcasescankeepitincheck.
尽管世卫组织警告，疟疾可能会在中国再次出现，但该国战胜疟疾表明，创新的治疗方法和积极的疾病监测可以遏制疟疾。
